First class assignment

My name is Kim. I graduated our local area high school in 2002. I enjoyed school for various social reasons, and little more. I would go back in a heart beat for a do over, and take full advantage of everything our school district offers as we are blessed to have all we do.

Currently I work full time as an in-home health aid on the over night shift. I also have a part time day job in the ministry of a Pregnancy Care Center, which is what has motivated me to get my degree in Christian Studies. I have worked a variety of jobs from a bank teller to a house keeper. I enjoyed the challenges at the bank (numbers are my thing), and the social interactions that go along with customer service. I am hoping to further my career in ministry with a focus on teens and women.

In my spare time I enjoy being a mommy and making the most of the time while my children are still small. My favorite movies would have to be Princess Bride, Fire Proof, and A Knight's Tale. I guess I am a hopeless romantic with a funny bone. I enjoy the out doors and good times with good friends. I read when I can and like a wide range of writings.

I am working on a bachelors degree in Christian studies because I want to earn a masters in youth ministry so as it is you must earn a bachelors before a masters...go figure! A friend of mine recently earned her masters in child education and gave me the information for GCU and here I am. I feel like this new journey is going to open my eyes to my calling in life and make me bolder in my ministry. Professionally I feel a degree gives you credibility and may further my ministry and support. Lastly on a personal level other than strengthening my relationship with God, just earning a degree will make me feel accomplished as a single mother that I have done my best and gave my all to be an example and encouragement for my children. I look forward to this year and all it holds!
